We weren’t always vegan. Like most people, we grew up eating meat and cheese. As we got older, we were more and more careful about knowing where our food came from - but we were still eating animals.

Then something happened…

We made a startling connection - between our hearts and minds - and our mouths.

The health benefits of a vegetarian or plant-based diet are pretty undeniable. Some of the healthiest and longest-lived people on earth eat little to no animal products.

According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, plant-based eaters are less likely to develop heart disease, cancer, diabetes, or high blood pressure than meat-eaters are. This appears to be mostly because of the amount of saturated fat and cholesterol in meat and animal products. Vegans are also, on average, around 20 pounds lighter than meat-eaters!

We’re all looking for ways to live cleaner and greener for the sake of the planet. One of the most effective things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint is to give up animal products. Studies show that a varied plant-based diet requires just one third of the land-use needed for conventional Western diets.
